La arm\u00e9e de l&rsquo;air des \u00e9tats-unis (USAAF) misait beaucoup sur le Liberator, mais l&rsquo;Avro Lancaster a \u00e9t\u00e9 le principal bombardier lourd employ\u00e9 par la RAF et l&rsquo;ARC \u00e0 partir de 1942.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Lancaster Mark X \u00e9tait m\u00fb par quatre moteurs Merlin 224 de Rolls Royce et pouvait atteindre des vitesses sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 400 kilom\u00e8tres \u00e0 l&rsquo;heure. Ce fut un des meilleurs bombardiers de la Deuxi\u00e8me Guerre mondiale; on pouvait le charger de bombes de diverses puissances.
