Quand le commandant de bord Art de Breyne, Pat Brophy et d&rsquo;autres membres du personnel navigant du 419<sup>e<\/sup>&nbsp;Escadron se sont r\u00e9unis en 1945, Brophy a pu raconter l&rsquo;histoire des gestes h\u00e9ro\u00efques d&rsquo;Andrew Mynarski au cours des derniers moments du Lancaster dans les airs. Plus tard cette ann\u00e9e l\u00e0, de Breyne a recommand\u00e9 qu&rsquo;une d\u00e9coration soit d\u00e9cern\u00e9e \u00e0 Andrew Mynarski, et sa recommandation a remont\u00e9 les divers paliers hi\u00e9rarchiques de l&rsquo;ARC et de la RAF. Le 11 octobre 1946, Andrew Charles Mynarski a m\u00e9rit\u00e9 la Croix de Victoria \u00e0 titre posthume; c&rsquo;est la plus haute d\u00e9coration militaire que l&rsquo;on puisse d\u00e9cerner \u00e0 quiconque fait preuve de courage face \u00e0 l&rsquo;ennemi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En novembre 1955, l&rsquo;\u00e9cole interm\u00e9diaire Andrew Mynarski VC a ouvert ses portes dans le secteur nord de Winnipeg. Par ailleurs, trois lacs dans le nord du Manitoba portent le nom de ce h\u00e9ros. En 2005, on a \u00e9rig\u00e9 une statue de bronze d&rsquo;Andrew Mynarski \u00e0 la base de Middleton St. George de la RAF, en Angleterre, et en 2006, un buste de lui a \u00e9t\u00e9 ajout\u00e9 au Monument aux Valeureux, \u00e0 Ottawa (Ontario). En outre, un parc, une filiale de la L\u00e9gion royale du Canada et un escadron des cadets de l&rsquo;Air portent le nom de Mynarski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L&rsquo;hommage sans doute le plus significatif rendu \u00e0 Andrew Charles Mynarski prend la forme du Lancaster restaur\u00e9 en sa m\u00e9moire; c&rsquo;est un des deux bombardiers Avro Lancaster en \u00e9tat de marche qui existent encore.
